Born Siphiwe Mpamile, Brown Dash apparently got his stage name from his love for posh brown leather car dashboards.

His accolades include Song Of The Year, for “Phansi Komthunzi Welanga” and Best Kwaito Album at the 2005 South African Music Awards (SAMA) for Umthandazo Wabolova.

He rose to fame during his time at TS Records where he worked with other big Kwaito names like DJ Cleo, Mapaputsi, Mzekezeke, Brickz etc.
