BROHUG is a trio of swedish DJs and producers, consisting of John Dahlback, Niklas Lunde and Christopher Lunde.

Before teaming up in 2016, the members were well known in the swedish electronic music scene. John Dahlback had multiple releases in global labels, while Niklas and Christopher formed the ‘Lunde Bros’ duo. Being from Sweden, they’ve met multiple times at local night clubs, but the trio only came to be when the members ended up sharing the same studio complex in Stockholm. The name Brohug got inspired by themselves – “Two of us are actually brothers, and the third of us nickname is Hugge. And together that’s BroHug,” they shared in an interview for EDMSauce blog.

Now together as Brohug, they debuted in Brooklyn Fire Records with the Seatown EP, though their very first track was “In The Morning”, released by Confession. “We were all in the sort of place where we were tired of the music that was around at the time, and that everyone seemed to aim only for radio plays. So we thought we would do stuff that had more of a nightclub approach […] Even though we have different tastes in music, we somehow connect with what we want to do with our music. We want to take things back to when it was fun and cool to listen to house music,” as revealed in an interview for Noiseporn.

From there onwards, the name Brohug only grew in the scene, collaborating with the likes of Afrojack, Kaskade, and Tchami, all the while releasing official remixes for Axwell /\ Ingrosso, Major Lazer, and Martin Garrix. For Dance Music NW, Brohug shared that their bass house signature sound is heavily influenced from hip-hop, though they aim to drift away from the radio sound and lean more towards the old-school nightclub tracks — “Make good music and even if it is not number one.”
