Brittany Murphy (1977-2009) was born with the surname of Bartolotti, but changed her surname to her mother’s when her parents divorced. Starting her acting career in Hollywood at age 13, she vaulted to stardom with her supporting role in Clueless. Besides other roles in films such as Girl, Interrupted, Don’t Say a Word, and Sin City, she also maintained a sidelight as a singer, collaborating with Paul Oakenfold and performing songs for the soundtrack of Happy Feet. She died of pneumonia.
