Brinsley Schwarz were a 1970s English pub rock band, named after their guitarist. They are best known as the starting point of bassist Nick Lowe’s career. Lowe would go on to write such hits as “Cruel to be Kind” – which was originally recorded as a Brinsley Schwarz song for their unreleased album It’s All Over Now.
