About Brian “Head” Welch

Brian “Head” Welch is an American guitarist born in Harbor City, California on June 19th, 1970. He is best known as the lead guitarist for American nü metal band Korn. He also has a side project, Love and Death, for which he is both the lead vocalist and lead guitarist of.

Brian started playing guitar at the age of 10 and was hired by former members of funk-rock band L.A.P.D. Fieldy, Munky, and David Silveria to form the band Creep in 1993, which would be renamed to Korn after hiring Jonathan Davis as a vocalist.

Brian left Korn on February 22nd, 2005, citing wanting to be a better father for his daughter Jeanna Marie, drug addictions, and becoming a born-again Christian. He later went on to release one solo album, Save Me From Myself, as well as a book under the same title in 2008.

After the initial solo album, Love and Death was formed in 2012 and released the album Between Here & Lost on January 22nd, 2013.
