New England based producer bretsil (real name bret sil) is a versatile producer being able to replicate any genre ranging from ambient, jazz, EDM and everything in between. Though he specializes in hip-hop he can create anything in the realm of music.
He has collaborated with many musicians, rappers, producers, and vocalists. His debut mixtape titled “grey poupon” shows this is only the beginning for bretsil.
His first project the Impossible EP helped show everyone that bretsil is the real deal, and he was able to network with many rappers who will be appearing in his releases in the future.
bretsil got his start in 2015 producing ambient music on his iPhone. Slowly he began to shift his sound to chilled, and laid back trap which he is now known for.
bretsil takes inspiration from every corner of the music sphere. He enjoys listening to Daft Punk, K-Dot, Duke Ellington, ACDC, Smashing Pumpkins, Daniel Lanois and more.
He uses GarageBAnd on his iPad Air 2 along with apps such as Korg Gadget, TF7, Skram, iMS20, Samplr, and more.
bretsil’s next project, set for release in 2018, is titled FUTURE. The tracklist is now up on Genius, feel free to check it out. It features Bill Clinton on the saxophone, vocalist Jason Silverman, the band Obelisk Doom and more.
He also makes album artwork for himself and others.
