Brendon Urie is an American singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist best known for his work as the frontman — and more recently, the sole member — of the Las Vegas pop-rock group Panic! At The Disco. He is most notable for his expansive vocal range, which spans four octaves and frequently earns him praise as a vocalist.
Brendon first became involved with Panic! At The Disco when he met their then-bassist Brent Wilson during a high school music class, and quickly replaced Ryan Ross (who ended up playing guitar) as the band’s lead vocalist. After undergoing numerous lineup changes over the course of a decade, Urie eventually became the only remaining member of Panic! At The Disco.
From there, things only got better — in April 2017, Brendon landed one of the lead roles in Cyndi Lauper’s award-winning Broadway musical Kinky Boots. He played the role of shoemaker Charlie Price from May 26 to August 6 of that year. Urie had expressed a desire to star in a musical several times before this announcement, so this was really a ‘dream come true’ for him.
Brendon wrote and recorded Panic! At The Disco’s fifth studio album, Death Of A Bachelor, entirely by himself, effectively making it a solo album. The album very clearly shows a Sinatra influence, which is unsurprising, considering the fact Urie has the man’s face tattooed on his arm. In fact, Brendon has said before that he considers Frank Sinatra his biggest musical inspiration.
His band’s older albums also seem to show influences of artists like the Smashing Pumpkins and The Who, alongside more ‘classic’ musicians like The Beatles, Bowie and Queen.

As a lone artist, Urie has also contributed his vocal talents to tracks by artists such as Fall Out Boy, Travie McCoy, The Cab and Gym Class Heroes — all of which have shared a record label with him at some point in time.
