Formed on Long Island in 2000, Brand New is a rock band formed by Jesse Lacey, Garrett Tierney and Brian Lane, from the ashes of their previous band—The Rookie Lot. Brandon Reilly, also from The Rookie Lot, was recruited early on to play guitar in the newly formed Brand New, but moved on shortly after to join The Movielife. He was replaced by Vincent Accardi, who is still with the band today.
Known for their album-to-album, stylistic changes and hard hitting post-rock and shoegaze influenced anthems, their studio album Daisy was both their biggest departure and the biggest success yet, reaching #6 in the Billboard 200 chart. They released their most recent album, Science Fiction, on August 17, 2017. It debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 and subsequently dropped to #97 the next week and was off of the charts by the week afterwards. Despite this, it has become one of their most critically acclaimed albums to date and has been named 5th most underrated album by Pitchfork.
