About Bram Laan

Bram Laan, also known as Bramlaan, was a singer-songwriter from the Netherlands. Born on September 23, 1953, Bram began playing the guitar at a very young age, honing his skills as he grew older. As a young man, Bram met Peter Broerse, and together they formed a band called Distance. The band played compositions written by Peter and Bram, building up a great reputation in North Holland.

After Distance dissolved in the late 1970s, Bram played in various bands and eventually wins the finale on the show Vara’s Voorstelling with his song “Laughter.” Bram came into contact with producer Don Willard, and together they created and independently released the album Aloft in a Balloon, featuring the aforementioned “Laughter.”

Bram remained inactive in releasing music until the 2010s, when he linked up with producer Sam Sidawi. Together they created a band called Plane Manus and released the project Free Fall in 2017. Shortly after the project was released, Bram sadly passed away on October 27, 2017.
