Boka(Real name Bokang Pitso), also known as “Boka Boka Killem” is a Lesotho born professional rapper Based in Maseru, born December 30 1992. With an arsenal of techniques at present, his interest in the hip hop/rap culture was sparked in 2008 at the age of sixteen when he got hold of ‘The Carter 3’ album by American artist ‘Lil Wayne’. Having already shown to have unique penmanship skills in his English studies, both primary and high school level, listening to Lil wayne’s ability to express himself with such wit, freedom and ease in songs like “ A millie”,”Mr Carter” and many more opened up a whole new world of creative writing for Boka.

Like DNA, Boka’s style is unique in the sense that it cannot be compared or found to be similar to any other artists work. The concepts, content, lyrical delivery and overall “feel” of every song are original and linked to his everyday life experiences. May 2013,Boka completed his first Mixtape titled “The Genesis Mixtape”,comprised of 12 bootlegged songs which is most memorable for its single “Song for you”(Link available soon).He then formed an alliance with producer “Carbon Casca”(Motebang Mokheleli), working on a number of projects but releasing his first commercial, locally produced 15 track project “No Conscience” February 26th 2016 . It was at this time Boka made a name for himself with singles like “Punchlines similies and metaphors” and ”Tshenola”,scoring heavy airplay on the ultimate radio. He further validated his stamp as a force to be reckoned with by making regular appearances on the “Hip Hop Café” (A segment on the Ultimate Radio every Monday 5-6pm providing a platform to hip hop artists to display their work and abilities) and leaving the audience in awe with his cut throat freestyles.

Boka then started working on a joint Mixtape with Carbon titled “Unlocked”, a 13 track consciously based project supported by a soulful trap type beat selection. Released July 22nd 2016, this is the most successful project he has worked on in that it received a Ultimate Music Award’s 2016 “Best Hip Hop Album” nomination, made it to the top 3 finalists and came in at second place at the award ceremony. Apart from the Ultimate radio, His single, “Memories” featuring “Tash”(Thato Seqhobane) was also play listed on Mxxl Radio 91.0 Mhz on the “100% Mseja show” with “Triple Bee” and has also been performed Live on Thahameso(A live news and current affairs show that airs every morning on the Lesotho National Broadcasting Services Monday to Friday 6-7:30am).
