Bobby Troup was a singer-songwriter and actor. His most famous work was likely “(Get Your Kicks On) Route 66”, but he wrote many other songs including “Their Hearts Were Full of Spring”, “Daddy”, “Lemon Twist”, “This October”, and “The Girl Can’t Help It”. He also appeared in several films and television shows, his most famous being a starring role in the 1970’s TV series “Emergency!”.
He was married in 1942 to Cynthia Hare, and had two daughters with her. They divorced in 1955, and in 1959 he married singer-actress Julie London. London and Troup had three more children, and remained married until Bobby’s death in 1999.
