Bobby Marz was born in Croatia as Zlatko Hukic and moved to Chicago when he was a child. He played guitar for the industrial band Ministry and was one of the original six members of Dark Lotus for one album. He also had some solo rap albums. After converting to Christianity and quitting the music industry for a while, Marz released his first Christian rap album, Revelation, in 2012 under the name John Brown. After that, he continued to release Chrisitan hip hop as Marz, with his most recent release being Thrive in 2017. In 2022, he decided to stop releasing religious music and change his stage name to Bobby Marz, a nickname most of his friends already used.
