Robert Hall Weir, born in San Francisco on October 16, 1947 (72yrs old), has become one of rock’s finest and most distinctive rythm guitarists.
Best known as a founding member of the legendary Grateful Dead, Weir is currently touring with Dead & Company which features Grateful Dead members Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann along with John Mayer, Oteil Burbridge, and Jeff Chimenti.
In September 2017, Weir was named a United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Goodwill Ambassador. In this role, Weir and the UNDP work together to raise awareness and mobilize support for the UN agency’s work to end poverty while fighting climate change.
