Blue Canariñho is one half of DJ /producer duo Brown x Blue who have a radio segment on Reprezent Radio. Blue currently experiments with ambient tracks, challenging major Grime MCs to spit bars over smooth, alternative beats (known as the “Smooth Grime/Alternative Grime” challenge) which formed the basis of his latest collaborative EP.

Growing up in Liverpool, Blue was immersed in the house DJ'ing scene, but always longed to spin grime, hip-hop and R&B tracks. At 18, during a summer trip visiting family near Barcelona he decided to teach himself how to create beats; so he would have something to paint/ graffiti to. Blue imagines himself spray painting whilst crafting his beats and notes this as the reason behind the nocturnal, laid-back vibe of his music.

Blue is inspired by East London; his adoptive home and expressed how the multicultural community in ‘ends’ makes him feel so welcome. Blue is transitioning from creating remixes to working with prominent artists on original projects, so watch this space for his new era.
