James Lee Baker (b. May 19, 1996), better known by his stage name BlocBoy JB, is a rapper from Memphis, Tennessee. He released six mixtapes from 2016-17, and his single “Shoot” and accompanying viral dance caught the attention of Drake. Drake connected with BlocBoy via producer Tay Keith, and they recorded the single “Look Alive.”

BlocBoy JB’s debut album SIMI, which is named for his slain friend, was released on May 4, 2018.
