Blake Shawn McCowan-Martin (born December 15,1999), better known by his stage name “BlakeShawn”, is an American rapper, producer and CEO of the480squad Records. He was born in Tempe, Arizona and still currently resides in Tempe, Arizona. He gained some popularity after releasing his album “Feeling$” in 2017 and his single “Death Star”.

==Early life==
Blake Shawn McCowan-Martin was born in Tempe, Arizona on December 15, 1999. He is one of two kids. He started rapping when he was 9 and recorded his first song on a Flip Phone with his sister and cousin. When he was in 8th grade, his parents divorced. This was just one of the traumatic childhood events Blake experienced. A year prior to the divorce his foster sister was sent back to her biological family. Blake regarded her as his sister even though they were not blood related, and this was a big loss in his life. Blake’s family fostered over 10 kids throughout a 5 year period. As far as Blake’s education went: Blake bounced around a lot during high school, attending Corona Del Sol High School then moving to Marcos De Niza High School, then he dropped out of high school, went back to Corona Del Sol High School, only to drop out again. Blake struggled with depression throughout his early life and used music as an alternative to counseling.

==Career Highlights==
On October 31, 2014, BlakeShawn released his debut single “They Don’t Even (Featuring JC)”. On February 16, 2017, BlakeShawn premiered a new single, ‘'Death Star’‘ with production by himself and Parabellum Beats. He then followed that up with his debut mixtape ’‘Feeling$’‘ on July 4, 2017.
