Black Soprano Family is a record label and hip hop collective started by Griselda artist Benny the Butcher in reception at Elmira Correctional Facility Reception in 2012. It was co-founded by Benny and manager Cityboy, and it is named after the gangster TV show The Sopranos. As told on The Bootleg Kev Podcast, Rick Hyde was the first artist who Benny signed to the label, which happened after Rick Hyde tried to pay Benny for a featured verse and Benny decided that if Rick wanted to rap, he should be a part of his collective. In 2020, BSF signed a deal with eOne.
