Black Box Recorder were a part-indie pop, part-trip hop trio from London, England consisting of Sarah Nixey, Luke Haines (of The Auteurs) and John Moore (of The Jesus and Mary Chain).
Despite their bleak lyrics aimed at the British middle and upper classes a top twenty hit was achieved with the single The Facts of Life in 1998.
