About Billy Newton Davis

American-Canadian Billy Newton-Davis (born April 26th, 1951 in Cleveland, Ohio, of 81 years) is a gospel and R&B singer and songwriter. He began producing music in 1981 with the release of his single “Romance”. By 1986 he had released his debut album, Love Is A Contact Sport. However, he unfortunately was diagnosed as being HIV-positive the same year. He continued to produce music, with his sophomore (and final) album Spellbound, in 1989. However, that was not the end of his music career. Throughout the 1990s and 2000s (mainly the 2000s), he was a featured artist to deadmau5 in 2006 through 2009 and the Boomtang Boys in 1995. However, he was also an active member of The Nylons throughout the 1990s, subsequently joining the group in 1991 but then leaving in 1994. In 2020, at the age of 79, he released his first EP, Have We Met?, containing his renditions of famous and notable tracks written by other songwriters particularly active in the 20th century, such as Bill Withers.
