Bill Cosby was an enormous figure in Hollywood throughout his career through the ‘80s and '90s, successful both as a stand-up comic and as a dramatic and comic actor, and is regarded as a pioneer for the African-American community in breaking into mainstream (white) culture.

He is now mostly talked about in regards to his many sexual assault allegations, which he denies.
