Lorenzo H. Grooms, stage name Big Ill, is the co-founder of the hip-hop duo Ill Al Skratch with Al Skratch. Al Skratch was from Harlem (i.e. Uptown) while Grooms was from Brooklyn. Hence the alternative name for the group: Brooklyn/Uptown Connection.
