Beni studied composition with composer, Giles Swayne, until he went to the Royal Academy of Music to do a Master’s course in composition under Dr Philip Cashian and Sir Peter Maxwell Davies.
Beni has been co-Composer-in-residence at Espacio Cultural El Tanque de Santa Cruz in Tenerife, a Britten-Pears Young Artist and a visiting tutor at the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain, as well as receiving several commissions and performances of his work and being shortlisted for the Britten Sinfonia OPUS 2015 award.
He has recently written a piece for drum machine and orchestra (to be performed by Southbank Sinfonia), and is now working on a large-scale studio-based project called SONDER as well as completing his album with cellist and composer, Colin Alexander.
Beni is a Nonclassical associate composer.
