Benedikt is a 19-year-old singer, songwriter and producer from Reykjavik, Iceland. He studies singing at Menntaskóli í Tónlist while also studying at Hamrahlid College. At only the age of 6 he started learning how to play the piano and around the age of 12 he was already writing classical music. Soon he found out that pop-music was his passion and that is where his focus is today. He has been active in choirs, theatre and studied ballet and other dance styles for many years.

Last spring Benedikt went through to the finals at Músíktilraunir, an Icelandic competition for young musicians, and was the only solo-project competing in the finals. This summer he will perform at Dillon for the Secret Solstice concert series “Reykjavik Live”. This autumn Benedikt will release his debut EP which is supported by RÚV (The Icelandic National Broadcasting Service) and STEF (Composers’ Rights Society of Iceland).
