BbyAfricka is a rapper from Ingelwood, California. She first became interested in music when her father bought her an iPad, giving her the opportunity to make her own beats. Her 2018 debut EP Brain Damage featured a sonic mixture of R&B, emo, and indie rock and reflected her own experiences in depression. After her mental health improved, she transitioned to rapping and “developed a style rooted in deadpan and nonchalance.” Since then, she has released a full-length album BIGAFRICKA and EP Freak of the Nile.
