Baz Luhrmann (born Mark Anthony Luhrmann, 17 September 1962) is an Australian writer, director, producer, and actor. He is best known for producing and directing many films, the most successful of which include Romeo + Juliette, Moulin Rouge!, Australia, and The Great Gatsby. He also has appeared on the theatre stage and in several films and TV series.
