Basement is an English rock band formed in 2009 in Ipswich. The band consists of lead vocalist Andrew Fisher, guitarists Alex Henery and Ronan Crix, bass guitarist Duncan Stewart and drummer James Fisher. The band first signed to Run For Cover Records and released their debut EP Songs About The Weather through the label. In 2011 they released their first studio album I Wish I Could Stay Here, which they promoted with several tours.
Before the release of their sophomore album Colourmeinkindness the band announced their hiatus that was due to the members wanting to focus on education and their careers. After the release of the album in October 2012, the band went on hiatus following their This Is Goodbye tour in November 2012.
On January 29th, 2014, the band announced in a post on their Facebook page that they would be reuniting. They also shared a tweet on their Twitter page simply saying ‘Hi’ and deleted the ‘2008-2012’ from their social media biographies. In June 2014 the band announced their new EP Further Sky, which was released in July 2014.
Third studio album Promise Everything, came out in January 2016. In February 2016 the band announced they signed to record label Fueled By Ramen; they celebrated this by releasing a deluxe version of Promise Everything, which includes two acoustic versions of album tracks, a cover, and a demo.
In August 2018, the band announced their fourth studio album Beside Myself. It was released in October 2018.
