One of the most prolific R&B/Pop songwriter/producers, Barry Eastmond has over sixty gold, platinum, and multi-platinum albums on some of the most important contemporary artists. Notching up cumulative sales of over 80 million copies. Barry’s creative magic has been responsible for hit records by: Anita Baker, Brandy, Britney Spears, Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, Tamia, Faith Evans, Chaka Khan, Gladys Knight, Kenny Lattimore, Michael Bolton, Billy Ocean, Freddie Jackson, Al Jarreau, Will Downing, Vanessa Williams, Regina Belle, Barry White, and George Benson, to name just a few. He produced the certified gold Anita Baker album “My Everything“ for Blue Note Records which included a collaboration with Babyface. He composed and co-produced the title song for Whitney Houston’s Christmas album “One Wish“ as well as Anita Baker’s Christmas Album “Christmas Fantasy”.

Some of his hits include “You Are My Lady”, “Have You Ever Loved Somebody”, Nice ‘n’ Slow”, “When The Going Gets Tough”, “There’ll Be Sad Songs”, “Love Zone”, “The Color Of Love” and “I Apologize”.

Recent projects include an album with Billy Ocean on his first album of original material in 20 years titled “One World” on Sony Music. Barry also produced Billy’s standards album “Here You Are” on Sony Music which entered the album charts at #4 in the UK as well as a brand new Najee album entitled “Poetry In Motion”. He also has a song that he co-wrote with Steve Perry on Steve’s brand new album “Traces” entitled “You Belong To Me” which was released in 2018. This year Barry’s song “The Answer’s Always Love” was recorded and released by Diana Ross on her “Thank You” album on Decca records. Her first release in 20 years.

Barry has received numerous ASCAP Pop and R&B awards. He has also served on the Board of NARAS. Barry was honored to be one of the songwriters that took part in ASCAP’s “We Write The Music” 2011 event at the Library of Congress at the Library of Congress in Washington D.C. along with Hal David, Lyle Lovett, Jackie De Shannon, Dean Kay, and others where he performed two of his hits “You Are My Lady” and “When The Going Gets Tough” at the event.

Barry is an adjunct professor at NYU Steinhardt Performing Arts Department in songwriting and is also involved in the NYU Summer Songwriting Workshop.
