Barrie began as a Brooklyn-based indie band consisting of Barrie Lindsay (lead vocals, guitar), Dominic Apa (drums), Spurgeon Carter (synth and vocals), Sabine Holler (bass and backing vocals), and Noah Prebish (synth and guitar). The band was formed when Lindsay’s manager found her songs online and brought four of the band members together.
Barrie released an EP as well as two other singles, which both received praise from critics. Barrie then announced the release of their debut album, Happy to Be Here, via the release of one of the songs from the album, “Clovers”. The album was released on May 3, 2019.
Shortly after the album’s release, the band members separated. Barrie is now a solo project for Barrie Lindsay, though she still has Dominic Apa on drums. For tours, she brings session musicians.
