Barbara Stephens

Barbara Stephens, pseudonym of Boysa Stephens (b. November 1, 1939 – Atlanta, Georgia), is an American former R&B/Soul singer.

Best known for her vocal skills, especially noticeable while taking the highest notes, she was signed by the legendary label Stax Records, for which she recorded several hit songs, like “The Life I Live” and “Wait A Minute”.

She quitted her career in 1971, in order to take care of her family after she got married, but she has never moved from Atlanta!
