Barbara Montecucco, known as Barbara Monte or Barbara, was born in Gavi, and approached music as a child taking violin lessons.

In 2003, she participated at the talent show “Superstar Tour” without winning.

In 2005, she moved to Milan and signed with CMP, an independent record label. In November 2006 her first single “Lacrima” was released.

In the summer of 2007, Barbara released her second single “Olio” and opened the only concert in Italy of Melanie C (former Spice Girls) at the “Giffoni Film Festival”. In the same year she collaborated with Pino Donaggio on the soundtrack of “Milano/Palermo. Il Ritorno”.

In summer of 2008 she entered the top ten of the I-Tunes chart “Il Respiro Di Te”, which is also the soundtrack of the TV drama “Fidati Di Me” with Virna Lisi.

Her first album, “Dai Fuoco Ai Miei Papaveri”, was released in November 2008, accompanied by the single “Tentami”, whose video, directed by Gaetano Morbioli, is the only one shot in Romeo and Juliet’s house in Verona.
