Balaam and the Angel are a Scottish rock band formed in 1984 by brothers Mark (Vocals, Bass), Jim (Guitar, Keyboards), and Des Morris (Drums).

Opening for The Cult landed them a record deal with Virgin Records who released their 1986 debut, The Greatest Story Ever Told. They recorded two more albums before leaving Virgin Records- 1988’s Live Free or Die and 1989’s Days of Madness.
