Baklava Boi is the former artist name of Ömer Sastim, under which he primarily released Turkish and Dutch-language music between 2019 and 2021. During this phase of his career, Ömer gained negative attention for posting illegal mashups on streaming platforms. He combined his own music with popular Turkish rappers' songs and falsely credited them as featured artists, causing the mashups to appear on their official profiles. This strategy was intended to boost his streams but it also led to the removal of the songs from streaming platforms.

Following the takedown of these mashups, Ömer created his “Master Oogway” persona in order to create a fanbase to promote his music easily. He released his debut album, Embrace, on April 6, 2021, that still contained traces of his earlier mashups. Shortly after, on June 16, 2021, he released the Wolves EP, which contained English-language tracks.

His last release under the Baklava Boi name was an instrumental ambient track by the name of “The Wise Turtle.” Ömer fully rebranded to Yung Oogway with the release of “Bombastic Lova Lova” on October 5, 2023.
