About Ava Max

Coupling powerhouse vocals with simultaneously catchy and powerful songwriting, Ava Max quickly became a pop hit-maker at the start of the 2020s. Born Amanda Ava Koci on February 16, 1994, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Albanian immigrants, Max didn’t get her start in the music industry until 2017 with her feature on “Clap Your Hands”.

Part of a crop of massively successful pop singers from the Balkans (which also includes Dua Lipa, Bebe Rexha, and Rita Ora), Ava Max’s lyrical themes of female empowerment, electropop style, and eccentric fashion quickly drew comparisons to fellow pop star Lady Gaga. Before long, she scored her breakout hit through “Sweet but Psycho”, topping charts around the world and peaking at number ten on the Billboard Hot 100.

Max followed up the success of “Sweet but Psycho” with two more Hot 100 hits — “Kings & Queens” and “My Head & My Heart” — before releasing her debut album, Heaven & Hell. The set debuted and peaked at #27 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, going on to sell a million units and achieve Platinum certification from the RIAA.

Max scored another hit in 2022 with “The Motto”, a collaboration with Dutch DJ and producer Tiësto. Her second album, Diamonds & Dancefloors is slated for release in 2023.

To date, Ava Max has certified single sales of 12.5 million in the United States alone.
