About Austin Harms

Austin Harms hails from the small farm town of Visalia, CA and is now based in Los Angeles. Drawing influence from artists such as Bon Iver, J. Cole, Daughter, Kanye West, & Frank Ocean, Harms creates music that blends the realms of left-of-center pop/electronic production with the raw lyricism & heavy grooves typically associated with hip-hop & R&B.

Deeply affected by the loss of his father to glioblastoma (brain cancer) in 2015, Austin writes songs that are reflections of various aspects of his grieving process – while also directly reflecting on his long struggle with depression and anxiety.

His new EP, BLOOD (released Feb. 22, 2019), chronicles his personal experience with different types of love lost & the grief associated with these experiences. Stand out tracks “ALL I KNOW/OUT MY MIND” & “SUMMERTIME” are testaments to Harm’s honest and cutting approach to songwriting. With deeply humanistic themes all centering around the idea of coping with profound loss, he creates a space of sagacious self-reflection in a bittersweet and thought-provoking conclusion.
