As Tall As Lions was an indie rock band from Long Island, New York, formed in 2001 by high school friends Dan Nigro, Saen Fitzgerald, Brian Fortune and Cliff Sarcona. Brian Caesar joined the band in October of 2002, playing bass. Fortune left in 2004 to go to university, and Caesar left the same year to pursue an “ordinary life”. Julio Tavarez officially joined in 2004, having played bass for the band in their first album, Blood and Aphorisms. The band continued to tour and make music up until September 23, 2010 when they officially announced they would be splitting.
