Along with Vladimir Horowitz, Artur Rubinstein (1887-1982) was one of the most famous classical pianists in the Western world in his time. Born to a Jewish family in Łódź, he demonstrated great musical talent at a young age and moved to Paris in 1904 to begin a professional career. In contrast with Horowitz' nervous temperament, Rubinstein was famed for the emotional steadiness he brought to a wide range of repertoire without sacrificing the music’s emotion and depth. Throughout his career, his recordings were distributed with his first name spelled as both “Arthur” and “Artur.”
Arthur Rubinstein's first song Nocturnes, Op. 9: No. 2 in E-Flat Major released on Thu Jan 01 1970.
