Armour, an original member of N.A.S.T.Y. Crew, is a grime MC from East London. Known for his patois-slinging and good-nature, he is greatly respected by the early spitters in grime. He was a prominent figure on pirate radio while riding with N.A.S.T.Y and featured on some of the most famous sets, for example, Jammer’s Birthday Bash.
(He can be seen with a black MLB hat and black, loose jacket, memorably going back-to-back with Wiley and Crazy Titch over DJ Target’s legendary Earth Warrior at about the 25:50 mark. The entire Deja Vu studio has mad energy; this set is legendary for good reason.)
Besides his Jamaican slang, Armour can be distinguished from some of his multiple catchphrases like “Caution: Hot Water” and “Make way, make way” – assuming the nickname Armour Hotwater. With his impressive physical prowess, this man has no trouble avoiding foot traffic.
Loved by many in the scene, Armour provided background vocals for Dizzee Rascal’s acclaimed Boy in da Corner LP on “Stop Dat”, along with many contributions to his crew.
Despite seemingly moving on from grime in the late nineties, Armour reemerged in late 2016 with a cosign from old-school N.A.S.TY. companion D Double E and his Bluku Music label. Eventually releasing a number of freestyles and “War Talk”, Armour brings a natural charisma and rejuvenated perspective to the genre. Still, mess with The Big Timer and expect some third-degree burns.
