Aristotle (sometimes known as Aris for short and fully as Aristotle Benoit) is an underground rapper who used to live in Detroit and was signed to Web Entertainment where he was labelmates with Eminem until they had a falling out in 1999. While it is largely unknown where he is today, he does have a soundcloud account here. He is the original creator of Ken Kaniff, a character who has popped up in Eminem’s work from time to time. The Ken Kaniff character originated from a skit he did where he prank-called Eminem and pretended to be Ken Kaniff from Connecticut. However, Eminem put the skit on The Slim Shady LP without Aristotle’s permission and thus their beef began. Eminem started using the character, voicing it himself since then and by 2002, after he used Ken again in The Eminem Show, Aristotle finally had enough and in response put out his only known mixtape titled The Ken Kaniff Show, a parody of that album, containing diss tracks towards Em.
PROPOSED SUGGESTION: Aristotle appears on Clint Dogg’s “Who Shit Mixtape” Aristotle is featured on 6 tracks as his Ken Kaniff persona. The mixtape is currently unavailable. The Ken Kaniff show originally had 21 tracks including “Kleys” and hidden track “If You Play Your Cards Right” but was cut down to 14 tracks. Aristotle later started an Independent label called Cock & Ass Records and signed Ali G (Sacha Baron Cohen) aka Menace. Aristotle as Ken Kaniff and Sacha as Menace released the “Don’t tell Daddy EP” and is currently missing.
PROPOSED SUGGESTION: 1998 – He can be found on two Wake Up Show Freestyles w/ Eminem: “Wake Up Show Freestyle 3 (feat. Aristotle & Royce Da 5'9)” and “Wake Up Show Freestyle 2 (feat. Aristotle & Dilated Peoples Aris).” Aristotle mentions his album called “The Malpractice“ which cannot be found.
Apparently, while on the Wake Up Show, Aristotle randomly dissed Defari, which was the “feud” that caused Eminem and Aristotle to part ways. Defari responded with “Bass Murder.” Aristotle allegedly responded with a diss track “Takin' You To School,” but it was either never released or can’t be found. The Defari vs. Aristotle beef was apparently a semi-big deal.
He is the person behind most of the copyright complaints to have songs from his 2002 album removed off internet websites such as YouTube, DatPiff, audiomack, etc. He has filed copyright complaints mostly against YouTube and DatPiff. Aristotle has released 4 albums 3 which are impossible to find. In 2018 when MGK dropped “Rap Devil” (Eminem diss) Aristotle released his own diss track called “Rap Daddy” (MGK Love song) as Ken Kaniff. Aristotle claims he took down “The Ken Kaniff Show” from Spotify because of “too much pressure from the FBI”. Aristotle uploaded a song as Ken Kaniff from 2004 unreleased due to FBI restrictions called “Lil’ Bow Wow”. Aristotle then released “Completely Miserable” as Ken Kaniff and has not been heard from since. These songs were posted on YouTube but are now private and can’t be viewed without permission from Aristotle.
