About Argyle Park

Argyle Park was a duo comprised of Buka – a pseudonym of Chris Martello, a producer at MTV Sports at the time – and Klayton of Circle Of Dust (and later, Celldweller) who was actually both members named Dred and Deathwish. Their band name is based on an actual park located in Long Island.

The concept of their 1995 album Misguided was “man putting too much faith in other men – and men will always let you down”. Guest musicians included JG Thirwell of Foetus (who was doing voiceovers at MTV Sports at the time), Tommy Victor of Prong, Klank, and three members of Stavesacre.

The group disbanded in 1996, with Buka planning to form a band named Soil (not the nu-metal band that did form in 1997) and Klayton releasing Disengage as Circle Of Dust in 1998. In 1999, Buka formed AP2 with Klayton’s brother Level (now LVL) and released Suspension Of Disbelief. Klayton participated in two of its tracks.

In 2004, Retroactive Records reissued Misguided. In 2016, Klayton’s label FIXT released a 3-disc expanded edition of Misguided featuring additional demos, instrumentals, non-album songs from compilations and the new song “Fanny Pack” featuring Mark Salomon of Stavesacre and Blue Stahli.
