In 1999, two childhood friends Helena Paparizou and Nikos Panagiotidis got together to form the Swedish-Greek singing duo Antique. Both born and raised in Sweden to Greek parents, the duo was the first ever to be nominated for a Swedish Grammis award with a Greek song.
Before disbanding in 2003, Helena and Nikos, participated in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2001 representing Greece. With their song, “(I Would) Die For You”, they finished in 3rd place.
After the split, Helena Paparizou continued as a solo artist and leads a successful career today, while Nikos Panagiotidis hasn’t been quite as successful.
