Daughter of a viola player and flutist who toured the world, Anna Rune grew up in a classical nest. While competing in classical piano concours for years, she realised her passion lay somewhere else: writing and singing her own creations.

After jazz vocal studies in Ghent, graduating cum laude from the conservatory in Rotterdam as a singer and composer and winning the last season of ‘The Best Singer-Songwriter of the Netherlands’, Rune played notable shows at Pinkpop, Songbird and Sziget.

In 2017 she tried out the songs for her first album with a full band in venues like Paradiso, Mezz and Tivoli before diving into a month of intensive studio time with over 40 musicians.
