Angel got their major label start when matched by Atlantic Records as a sort of counterbalance to Kiss. They played “good guys” to Kiss’s “bad boys”, wore white instead of black, were glam instead of goth.
Their first song on their first album, “The Tower,” got significant AOR airplay, and continues to be played on rock stations to this day, but despite continued moderate success on AOR radio for the next couple of albums, the band never caught on, and its members eventually went on to other things, most notably Gregg Giuffria and his eponymous band Giuffria, which evolved into another called House of Lords.
