About Andy Seltzer

Hailing from a sleepy beach town in CT, Andy Seltzer’s capabilities as a multi-instrumentalist stem from growing up with a guitarist brother who taught him bass and drums early on so they could jam together in sibling harmony. In middle school he begged his dad for a used MPC1000, and went crate-digging for records while visiting family in NYC. High school provided an escape through a portal to the distant land of Garageband, and the tiny loft above Andy’s real garage became the laboratory where his pop-punk band would craft their first songs.

It wasn’t until a friend dragged him against his will to a college house party in Boston while attending Berklee College of Music where he met a singer looking for a producer, and for reasons unknown the words “…Hey I’m a producer!” stumbled out of his mouth, and there was no looking back.

Andy’s songwriting and production style is versatile; each song is specific to the artist he is writing with in order to deliver their vision with a sense of honesty, integrity, and timelessness. His sound can be described as hip-hop influenced drums supported by bedroom/minimalist textures, all inspired by his love of pop music from the 80’s, 90’s, and 00’s. He strives to capture the most honest performance possible from the artist, with conversational melodies and relatable lyrics.

Shortly after receiving the Abe Olman Scholarship for excellence in songwriting from the Songwriter’s Hall Of Fame in 2017, Andy made his debut into the pop world with the release of “Split Stones” by Maggie Rogers, a song they co-wrote together in his first Brooklyn apartment. Following that release, Andy signed a co-publishing deal with Warner Chappell.
