Anaïs Mitchell is an American singer, songwriter, and musician whose most notable works include the mythological folk-opera Hadestown (2010) as well as five other full-length albums, the most recent being Young Man in America (2012). She also participated in the album Child Ballads (2013), where she and musician Jefferson Hamer arranged and did renditions of traditional folk ballads from the Francis James Child collection.
