Rei Yasuda 安田レイ (last name Yasuda, first name Rei) was born in North Carolina on April 15, 1993, and later moved to Japan when she was three years old. At the age of ten, her mother began listening to Utada Hikaru, a famous American born Japanese, which encouraged her dream of becoming a singer.

At the age of 13, her dream was slowly starting to come true as she joined the virtual group 元気ロケッツ (Genki Rockets) and eventually, at the age of 20, debuted as a solo singer with the album “Best of My Love” in 2013.

Most of her songs have been the provided theme songs to dramas, movies, and commercials – one of which was for the TBS drama 「結婚式の前日に」(Before the Wedding), where she received recognition for her work with the song 「あしたいろ」, winning her the Newcomer’s Award at the 57th Japan Records Award for 2015.

Rei is currently signed to Sony Music Japan.
