About Amnesia Scanner

Amnesia Scanner is a Berlin-based Finnish duo formed by Martti Kalliala and Ville Haimala, self-described “xperienz designers.” They make experimental electronic music, sampling things from glass breaking noises to demonic voices in tracks that are both extremely dense and dance friendly.

Martti and Ville also release music under the name Renaissance Man and are very reclusive, refusing to give much explanation about their concept.

A lot of praise is given to their highly produced live performances. They work with artists like Vincent De Belleval to make the so-called “Xperienz”: a very immersive environment with intricate projections, lights, fog and even scents.

Amnesia Scanner started in 2014, uploading tracks on SoundCloud, since then they’ve produced Mykki Blanco’s “Booty Bamboo”, collaborated with Holly Herndon on “An Exit” and got their debut EP, AS, elected as one of “The 20 Best Experimental Albums of 2016” by Pitchfork.
