About Amir Obè

Amir Obé, born August 26, 1989, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, and producer.

He was born in Brooklyn, NY and moved to Detroit, MI when he was young. Obé was first known as Phreshy Duzit, mainly on SoundCloud. After a while, he signed to Atlantic Records, when he also met PARTYNEXTDOOR. He sent his beats to PARTY (then Jahron B.), who used them.

While signed to Atlantic Records, he released his debut EP Brave New World. After this EP, he left Atlantic because he thought the deal was “bullshit.”

He then released his debut mixtape, The New Religion on his own independent record label, Neighborhood PHCK$.

When he released the mixtape Detrooklyn, he changed his name to Amir Obé. In 2014 Obé got the attention of Drake’s manager Oliver El-Khatib. He then co-produced “Star67” and released a couple songs with PARTYNEXTDOOR: “I’m Good” and “Truth For You.”

He then released two new EPs: Happening in the Grey Area (2015) and Won’t Find Love in the Hills (2016)

In December 2016 he signed to Def Jam Recordings, and announced his debut album for 2017.
