Alice Christiana Gertrude Meynell, born October 11, 1847 and died November 27 1922, was a British author and suffragist now remembered mostly as a poet. Her father knew Charles Dickens, and in her later years, during the many uprisings against the British Empire, she spoke out for the oppressed.
