Alex Lustig has cultivated an unmistakable sound—lush ambient instrumentals, R&B hits, house tracks and melodic trap records make up the Belgian producer’s Grammy-nominated, multi Platinum catalog.
Since 2017, he’s built close ties with the OVO camp. Lustig produced five tracks on Drake’s Honestly Nevermind album, including the single “Falling Back,” as well as “N Too Deep” with Future from Drake’s 2021 album Certified Lover Boy. He also has records with PARTYNEXTDOOR, Naomi Sharon and Baka Not Nice.
Lustig also produced a couple of tracks with Nigerian sensation Rema, “HOV” and “Reason You,” and he has a handful of tracks with Gunna, including “idk that bitch” with G Herbo. French Montana, Lil Wayne, Machine Gun Kelly, Toosii and Tinashe are all amongst Lustig’s lengthy list of artist collaborators.
His solo releases, however, have become Lustig’s bread and butter, and are what have holistically defined his production style. In 2020, two of his tracks were in SiriusXM Chill’s top 20 most played songs. His synth loops are particularly celebrated—Poo Bear and the Audibles, for example, used one in “Come Around me” for Justin Bieber. In 2023, Lustig is focused on crafting a definitive solo project.
