About Albert King

Albert King Nelson (1923-1992) was a pillar of blues guitar play. King had a prolific career spanning several decades and many albums. He was noted as one of the “three kings of blues guitar,” a list that also contained B.B. King & Freddie King. Born on a cotton plantation in Mississippi, King would grow musically through the church, and eventually become a prolific blues artist. At his death, fellow blues legend B.B. King would eulogize his peer by saying:

Albert wasn’t my brother in blood, but he was my brother in blues.
